I’ve been quiet for the past few months because I’m heads-down writing my book about the history of immersive experiences. It’s going well! Trying to re-interpret the last thousand years of art and culture and entertainment through the lens of “immersion” isn’t the easiest thing to do, but I’m genuinely enjoying it and now that I’ve finally reached the 1980s, I think my broad scope is really starting to pay off. But that’s not what this post is about, because…
I’m running a Jubensha Convention in London on 8-9th May next year!
Play jubensha, learn how it’s made, and meet designers from Suspense Studios (KMS Games), Chronic Insanity, and the people behind Spy of the Year! It’s probably the world’s first English-language jubensha convention. If you think otherwise, let me know so I can stop telling people it is.
It won’t be fancy, but we’ll have most of a floor in the lovely and very central Theatre Deli. My goal is to help grow the English-language jubensha scene and get cool people to meet each other.
If you were intrigued by my post on what makes the phenomonally popular Chinese “scripted murder” format different to murder mysteries, larp, and escape rooms and my interview with the co-creator of the first original English-language jubensha, then this convention is for you.
Even better, tickets will be around £15!
Sign up for updates (and so I know how many people will come!)
