The difference here is that rather than just keep the cookie this takes you to an entirely different page with no tickboxes checked where you have to select the newsletters you want. It’s quite a different level of interaction and, whilst they may drive a lot of users to that page with this design it certainly won’t convert the same way.
Good to know – I’d dismissed the pop-up so that’s much more reassuring.
