  1. It’s set in the basement of a 19th century Martello Tower which used to have a roller skating rink, and is now crowned by a naval cannon. There’s the usual local and naval history with figureheads and model railway, but otherwise it’s a collection of households through time, from cameras to TVs and radios, and washing machines to vacuum cleaners. I can’t remember which celebrity named it their second favourite museum in the country, but it’s fun to visit and pick through if you’re ever down this way, and it’s open…
