[edit] What Sites Would You Like To See on the "Also On" MeFi Feature?

The "Also On" feature is a way to share your activity on other social sites ("Hey everyone, I'm also mathowie at Flickr and here's a link to my profile!). The social app icons on your MeFi user page link to your public user account page on other systems. Here are some quick rules for submitting a Social App for consideration:

• The service must have a profile page that shows a user's activity there.
• The page must be public (no logins required), and must be human readable (not RSS).
• Please include a working example of a profile page at the service.
• Please add your suggestion to the bottom of the Social App Suggestions list.

  • We're not going to add Posterous for the same reason we won't add Blogger, Tumblr, etc. These link directly to content instead of a summary of contributions. It's an arbitrary decision, and there are some exceptions that have been grandfathered into our list such as Twitter, but we don't want to link directly to content from these Social Service links.
• Tumblr --http://username.tumblr.com/
  • Tumblr doesn't have a profile page--this links directly to content rather than a summary of contributions.
  • How do you do the twitter updates? I would think Tumblr would be the same thing.
• Xbox Live Gamertag -- http://live.xbox.com/member/EndsOfInvention
  • Xbox Live requires a login. Please use MyGamerCard instead.
• Bloglines -- http://www.bloglines.com/public/dzho
  • Bloglines isn't the sort of service people contribute content to, so there isn't much of a profile here.
• Other language Wikipedias -- http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebruiker:Paul079
  • 75% of MeFi members browse from the US. Adding all of Wikipedia's country options will clutter without finding many connections.

  • There's no profile here that I can find. Please re-add above with a working profile URL if they have profile pages.

  • Unfortunately, Ravelry requires a login to view a profile page.
