Ponies

A "pony" just means a new feature on the site. The term arose in the Feature Requests category in MetaTalk. If you envision yourself as a little girl being asked what you want for Christmas, you might say, "Categories on AskMetaFilter and a killfile. Oh, and a pony!" Although technically Mo Nickels made the first mention of ponies on MetaTalk, thirteen must get credit for the concept of pony-as-feature. Ponies are a MetaFilter InJoke. Arguably sourced from Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where Suzie wishes for Calvin to be nicer, and says "While I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony."
