Metageist

A Metageist is two consecutive Ask MetaFilter threads that, while not identical, are similar enough in subject to be notable. The word is a portmanteau of MetaFilter and the word zeitgeist. There have been several theories put forth trying to explain this phenomenon, but it is unlikely that any single explanation would be sufficient to describe all instances. Metageist was first described (and the term coined) in this MeTa thread.
